THE visitors won the toss and chose to bat but struggled to make early runs against the pacy accuracy of Ian Bishop, Chris Skidmore and Scott Clapp on Sunday.

Only Charlie Vickery (51) and Rob Travers (32), with some lusty blows at the death, made any impression as their innings closed on 155-9.

Despite a breezy start from Mitch Windsor (22), Bridgwater’s top order collapsed to 55-5 with the very unlucky Stu Butt being run out backing up without facing a ball.

It was left to skipper Mike Coles (54no) and Todd Barrett (27), who put on 79 for the sixth wicket, to rescue their side and the match as the home side’s lower order inched them to victory in the 42nd over.
