Bridgwater produced one of their most memorable wins in a pulsating match over the champions Bath at The Parks on Saturday.

Bath were indebted to Sam Mount's century as the visitors were invited to take first use on what turned out to be an excellent pitch.

The visitors were struggling at 77-4 but Mount's majestic 134, which included seven sixes, enabled Bath to reach a commanding 268.

Steffan Jones (3-21) routed the top order thanks to two Stu Standerwick catches behind and good catches in the deep helped Ed Habberfield to return with commendable figures of 4-36.

Bridgwater got off to a flyer in their reply as Andy Hallaran (32) and Mitch Windsor (25) put on a quick 50 for the first wicket before both fell to Simon Marchant's excellent opening spell.

Chris Gange and Stu Butt kept up the momentum but when Gange fell for a sparkling 32 and the score on 111 in the 30th over, the home side needed 160 off 20 overs to win.

Skipper Mike Coles came to the fore and after playing himself in, struck the ball to all parts in a blistering knock of 108 which included 10 boundaries and six maximums.

Butt also played a crucial supportive role to end up on 63 not out as Bridgwater chased down the total with an over to spare.
