Bridgwater Saturn 38, Trident 55 SATURN put in a better showing against league leaders, Trident, after the heavy defeat during their previous meeting.

Great centre court play from Chris Durant and accurate shooting from both Rachael Selway and Becky Palmer saw Saturn end the first quarter 13-15.

The second quarter ended 21-26 to Trident but then the opposition began to build a lead despite Steph Carlin and player of the match Sally Haysham's best efforts in defence.

During the final quarter there were changes to both teams, which helped Trident extend their lead and the match ended 55-38 to Trident.

Neptune 23 Babylon 35 THE first quarter saw Neptune start slowly, ending the quarter 3-11 down but defensive duo Emma Downes and Sally Haysham made endless interceptions and tips, giving Neptune the opportunity to capitalise on these chances.

Neptune trailed by 11 goals, and their aim was to get within half to gain a point for this match. An injury to Sammy Kemmish saw some team changes dropping her back to goal shooter.

Despite this, Neptune battled on with some great feeds into the circle from Emma Reynolds which allowed Kemmish to effortlessly put the goals away.

Unfortunately, the Yeovil side ran away with the win. Joint players of the match were Reynolds, Downes and Haysham.

Bridgwater Venus 26, Wyndham 59 IN FREEZING conditions, Bridgwater failed to match the flurry of snow with a flurry of goals, trailing 9-15 at the end of the first quarter.

Wyndham's shooters continually found the back of the net despite the relentless defence of player of the match Morgan Middleton and Emily Page-Symonds.

Numb hands affected the players' ability to catch and pass the ball as Venus tried to claw back every goal they could.

Even the speed of Emily Rowland was hampered by the playing conditions, as the surface became slippery and Wyndham ran away to victory.

Bridgwater Mars 30, Hendford 48 HENFORD came out fighting from the start, winning the first quarter 11-4. However, Mars soon picked up the pace with strong defence from Morgan Middleton and Kathryn Jay saw Mars increase their goal tally to trail 12-22 at half time.

Unfortunately, this wasn't enough to stop Hendford from building on their lead by the end of the third period, 36-21. The last quarter saw accurate shooting from Karis Holleron and Sarah which kept Mars in the game.

Bridgwater Mercury 31, Newbarn 33 MERCURY travelled to Taunton to meet Newbarn and both teams started well, displaying steady passing, with Newbarn just edging it 8-7 at quarter time.

Despite good defence from Kat Jay, Deb Perry and Eloise Cowen, Newbarn managed to increase their lead to 19-16 by half time. Mercury made some changes but still found themselves trailing 27-23, but they rallied in the final period and accurate shooting from Karis Holleron and Kayleigh Haste kept them in contention to the end.

However, Newbarn just managed to hang on to win the game 33-31 which reflected the evenly matched teams. Player of the match was Eloise Cowen.
