THREE teams from the Taunton and District League have progressed through to the quarter finals of the Somerset Intermediate Cup this weekend.

Division Two's Sampford Blues dumped Highbridge Town Reserves out of the cup with a 5-0 drilling thanks to braces from duo Craig Aspin and Dave Darch and Ash Gaines added the fifth.

Middlezoy Rovers Reserves were taken to extra-time after no score in 90 minutes against Milborne Port but Aaron James got the winner to spare any penalty blushes.

James Bawden scored twice to give SRL Saints a 4-3 win over Colford Athletic.

Bawden hit a 25-yard piledriver and converted a penalty alongside goals from Mark Pope and Leighton Ballantine to help Saints claw their way back after trailing 3-1 at half-time.

In league action, Division One saw table toppers Middlezoy Rovers held to a 1-1 draw against rivals Bridgwater Sports.

Matt Stevenson scored for Sports and Lance Turner grabbed the equaliser for Rovers.

Predators had a comfortable win against bottom side Porlock who are yet to earn any points, Chris Taylor scored twice, Carl Jones, Damon Jennings and Jake Adey all added one each.

North Petherton have moved up to sixth after their 3-1 victory over Alcombe Rovers, Nathan Legg, Mark Mantyk and a penalty from Craig Wright were responsible for Pethy's tally.

Highbridge Town's match against Bishops Lydeard Reserves was postponed due to an unplayable pitch.

Division Two saw honours shared between Westonzoyland and Bridgwater Sports Reserve at 1-1. Anton Bolton scored for the home side and Leon Dodden got Sports goal.

In Division Three, Wembdon closed the gap on leaders Appletree, who were in cup action, with a 4-0 win at Minehead Reserves.

Ben Cheffey put Wembdon 2-0 ahead before Brendan Pope and Craig Durant made sure of the three points.

Redgate are on form and took that to Williton, coming away with a 5-0 win thanks to a hat-trick from Sergio da Silva Faria and one each from Sam Granville and Jack Hamblin.

Sydenham Rangers suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bishops Hull but Stogursey were sent down 9-1 by Hamilton Hawks with Ryan Chidgey grabbing a consolation penalty.

Division Four saw The Galley lose 5-2 to league leaders Milverton Rangers despite Dan Andison and Shane Thompson netting.

In Division Five, North Petherton Reserves have taken over at the top of the table after their 3-2 away win at Exmoor Rangers Petherton trailed 2-1 but two long throws from Ben Howell helped reverse the scores thanks to two goals Josh Gracie and one from Lloyd Beacham.

Morganians slipped up at home to Galmington to drop into second spot after their 5-1 defeat with Chris Reed netting their only goal.

East Bower drew 4-4 with Halcon United with James Gibbs, Ollie Ham, Sam Draper and Jack Reed all netting, Wembdon Saints Reserves beat Sampford Blues Reserves 4-3 thanks to a Rob White brace and one each from Kyran Devvit and Gareth Mountstevens, Nether Stowey Reserves beat Tone Youth 3-2 and Bridgwater Grasshoppers lost 4-1 to Creech Coogars.
