Bridgwater 'B' 5, ISCA 'D' 2 BRIDGWATER started badly as ISCA scored almost from the off from a short corner.
It caught Bridgwater a little off-guard but yet again the team rallied well and got back on to level terms after Aaron Turner set up Liam Pigden for his second goal in two.
Bridgwater got the breakthrough when Bennett went down the left crossed to Davidge who slipped the ball for Wilson to fire home 2-1.
Another good move starting from Stradling and Hobbs ended with Turner providing another shot for Payne who reversed shot passed the keeper for 3-1.
ISCA got one back before half-time but Bennett increased Bridgwater's lead to 4-2 in the second half as he found himself unmarked at the back post.
The scoring was completed when Wilson calmly slotted home following good work from Stradling and Payne.
Man of the match: Marcus Blythe.
Minehead 1, Bridgwater 1st XI 5 HAVING not played a competitive match for six weeks it was inevitable that their touch and passing were not initially up to speed in the opening 15 minutes.
To their credit Bridgwater defended solidly and then, on their first break into the Minehead half scored through Carwyn Jenkins.
Minehead levelled from a short corner at the third attempt despite keeper Pete Saunders saving the first two efforts.
With Bridgwater now playing better, Todd Barrett scored right on the stroke of half time to give Bridgwater a 2-1 lead.
The second half saw Bridgwater play arguably their best half of hockey so far this season. A controlled passing game, confident in defence and lightning fast in attack, saw Matt Upham convert a penalty stroke after Chris Lines had been up-ended by the keeper.
Bridgwater's fourth goal was the best of the game, again turning defence in to attack with pace - Liam Hedaux latching on to a loose ball, beating a player and feeding Todd Barrett, he drew the keeper and calmly passed across the 'D' for Tom Willis to convert at the back post.
Lines added the fifth after beating a number of defenders and converting from a tight angle.
Joint men of the match: Pete Saunders and Kieran Wood.
Bridgwater Ladies 1, Gryphons 6 THE Ladies faced a difficult match against table toppers Gryphons made even more difficult with a number of absentees.
Bridgwater had the greater possession but with the speed of a Gryphons forward, they capitalised on two fast breaks to take a 2-0 half time lead.
The second-half started superbly for Bridgwater as a reverse pass by Julie Reed found Kira who slotted the ball past the Gryphons keeper to halve the deficit.
But that was the last moment of celebration as Gryphons piled on the pressure to win 6-1.Player of match: Sue Durkin.
