ANDREW Venning will make his debut for the England Schools' Under 18s squad this weekend.
The 18-year-old, from Bridgwater, is a key member of Bridgwater College Men's Football Development Squad and is also on the academy circuit at Yeovil Town Football Club.
Venning, who is studying a BTEC in Sports Science at the college, said he is ready and raring to go for the match against Australia Schools.
The midfielder added: “I really can't wait and I'm really looking forward to it.
“Since I was told I made the squad in mid-December I just wanted to play - I've been waiting for so long.
“It is going to be a high standard because this is the highest level for non-contracted players so it will be tough competition.”
Venning said he hopes to follow in the footsteps of current Manchester United centre-back Chris Smalling, who was snapped up by Fulham after impressing during an England Schoolboys match.
He said: “It would be a dream come true.”
The match is at AFC Wulfrunians in Wolverhampton tomorrow. Kick-off is at 10.30am.
