Sydenham Gems 50, Hovelands 23 GEMS made early errors in their cup match with Hovelands but shooters Hannah Clapp and Justine Pearn soon found their range to help take an 11-8 lead.

Sydenham Sapphires 39, Dukes 35 SAPPHIRES started slowly against Dukes in the quarter final of the Knockout Cup, ending the first quarter 14-7 down.

But accurate passes from Katie Ball and Laura Coombes gave Helen Martin and player of the match Gemma Thorne the chance to convert their chances and give their side a 20-19 lead at half-time.

Debbie Chapman and Nic Hale worked well in defence and Sapphires held their nerve to claim the win by four goals.

Sydenham Emeralds 35, Knaves 39 EMERALDS met Knaves from Tor and took a 8-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Knaves fought back to lead 15-13 at half-time before Emily Hoare was replaced by Sandra Fry following injury.

Emeralds looked to close the gap and Mikki Hole worked well with Kerry Clark, Michelle Martin, Roxy McDowell and Lynne Cornish to pull the scores back to just one goal behind.

A frantic final quarter saw Knaves increase the pace just enough to extend their lead to win 39-35.
