Bridgwater Jupiter 51, Harlequins 32 JUPITER picked up their first win for 2012 against tough competition in Harlequins.

They did trail 9-8 at the end of the quarter but well timed interceptions from Hannah Symes helped to put Jupiter 25-17 ahead for the second half.

Baylea Charles turned the possession over, allowing the accurate shooting of Paige Davey to increase that lead, and in the final quarter Lisa Durant made amazing interceptions as Jupiter held on. Stepping into the attacking line up, Sammie Kemmish outran her defence to create fantastic shooting positions and finished her shots with precision.

During the fourth quarter, Saturn turned on the pressure but Babylon remained strong and took the match 40 - 32. Joint players of the match: Haysham, Carlin and Downes Bridgwater Venus 38, Dolphins 47 VENUS took an early lead against Dolphins thanks to duo Paige Langdon and Lianne Fothergill but these skills deserted Venus in the second quarter with passes being given away cheaply, leading to an ever-increasing gap as the game swung Dolphins way.

Solid defending from Coleen Bartlett and Emily Page-Symonds led to an improvement for Venus in the third quarter, with Emily Rowland, centre Cath Clark and Chris Shaw making inroads into the Dolphins' defence but it was too late to recover. Player of the match was Shaw Bridgwater Mars 29, Robins 26 DESPITE a long journey to Bruton, Mars were level at 6-6 at the end of the first quarter.

Mars started to pull away in the second quarter, with the defence, Morgan Middleton, Katy Chedzey and Coleen Bartlett working well.

Entering the third quarter 15-11 ahead, Robins crept back to level the score 21-21 but Norah Lewis and Sarah Perry put up some fantastic shots to secure a 29-26 win. Players of match were Middleton, Chedzey and Lewis.

Bridgwater Mercury 46, Walton 52 MERCURY came out fighting in their second game against Walton this season with some excellent shooting from Kayleigh Haste and Karis Holleran helping them take an 11-10 lead.

Despite some great interceptions, Walton's tall goal-shooter caused havoc and they entered the final quarter 39-34 down.

Great centre passes and feeding into the circle by Jade Chambers couldn't stop Walton from maintaining the lead and winning the game 52-46. Player of the match was Holleran. Match sponsor: Dean Motors
