Sapphires 61, Rubies 19
AN all Sydenham final saw the club's second and third teams playing each other in the final of the lower divisions cup competition.
Sapphires took an early lead and were dominant throughout the game.
Great shooting from Nic Hale and Sandra Fry helped Sapphires to an eventual 61 - 19 win, despite strong court play, particularly from Jo Bromme.
Rubies were always playing catch up, with the score not reflecting the game.
Congratulations to both teams for their success in getting to the final which was a real boost for netball in the Bridgwater area.
Under 14 tournament
PRIOR to the cup finals taking place, the morning was taken up with an under 14 tournament.
Sydenham's young players performed very well in the four games, beating Taunton, Bridgwater B and Burnham but losing to Galmington.
Excellent shooting from Megan Walford and Paige Pople, centre court play from Molly Gill, Leanne Wegg and Kira Shapter and defensive work from Kerry Clarke and Chelsie Coombes took the team into the top half of the under 14league table.
