PORLOCK beat Bridgwater Sports 4-3 on penalties to lift the League Knock Out Cup.

Porlock threatened in attack and their long throws caused problems for Bridgwater Sports but they defended well.

Sports took the lead from a rare Jake Chidgey goal on 35 minutes.

Porlock pushed hard for an equaliser after the restart and were rewarded on the hour mark from Adam Sparks.

After regrouping, Sports regained the lead two minutes later thanks to a Liam Derrick header but Porlock turned the game with ten minutes left from the penalty spot.

Sports goalkeeper Scott Collard was almost the hero saving two Porlock penalties but his teammates missed the target three times, meaning Porlock capitalised in sudden death to win the cup.

Somerset Junior Cup semi final Bridgwater Sports' hopes of reaching the final were dashed as they went down 4-2 to Chew Valley Sports.

Chew Valley took the lead but Rich Smith got Sports back level, before Chew again went ahead.

Rich Smith was at hand to equalise for a second time but his side were unable to hold on as Chew Valley netted twice in the final stages of the game to go through.

HIGHBRIDGE Town still hold top spot in Division One after drawing 1-1 with Staplegrove.

Their opponents took the lead after the break through Russell Nightingale but John Kear headed Town level on 70 minutes.

Middlezoy Rovers moved into second with a convincing 4-1 win over Dulverton. Luke Manley scored twice with Scott Turner and Andy Smith scoring the other two goals.

Cannington Colts recorded their fifth win in a row as they beat Alcombe Rovers 5-1 away from home.

Paul Irvine notched a hat-trick while Mark Pope and Darren Hill added one each.

In Division Two, Bridgwater Sports opened up a four-point gap at the top with a 1-0 win over Minehead. Jordan Meaker scored the only goal after ten minutes.

Predators still hold onto second spot after going down 2-0 to Sydenham Rangers. Rangers were quickest out of the blocks and took the lead through Mark Pople's 25-yard effort after seven minutes.

Rangers doubled their lead through Josh Speed.

Sydenham Rangers have arranged a charity game next Sunday against the British Army on Sunday at Bridgwater Sports and Social Club. The kick off is at 2.30pm and funds will be in aid of The Coldstream Guards.

Westonzoyland beat Staplegrove Reserves 1-0 with the only goal of the game scored by Ryan Hobbs.

Wembdon move up to third after their 6-3 victory over bottom side Hulan. Danny Russell converted a hat-trick, Ben Cheffey and Marvin Portlock scored one each with Simon Lukins adding a penalty. Mike Perrin scored for Hulan with Col Williams and James Sangster both adding their first goals of the season.

Civil Service beat local rivals White Hart Rangers 4-2. Sean Stallabrass got both Rangers goals with Pete Scarrett also scoring two Civil Service while Adam Cook added a third. Rangers provided the fourth with an own goal.

North Petherton remain leaders of Division Three after their 3-1 away win at Williton. The league's leading marksman Craig Wright netted twice to make it 34 for the season.

Mark Mantyk scored the third and Karl Boswell responded for Williton.

Middlezoy Rovers Reserves stay two points behind North Petherton and this week beat Wembdon Saints 2-1 away from home.

Sam Puddy and Dave Warren scored one each while Mark Passmore netted for Saints.

Early pacemakers Appletree are still thereabouts after their 6-0 win over Exmoor Rangers. Mark Kmita scored two and the other four goals were spread between Duncan Lane, Nick Rowe-Alley, Sandy Patel and Steve Cottey.

There was a nine goal thriller at Norton Fitzwarren where the home side lost 5-4 to Redgate.

Simon Fidoe hit two for Redgate with Charlie Arden, Aaron Tate and Darren Couch getting one each.

Old Inn Allstars were too strong for Highbridge Town Reserves in the early kick off game winning 4-2 thanks to goals from Mike Kearley, Steve Scorse, Dan James and Rob Chidgey.

Chris Jayes and Graham Furze responded for Town.

Alcombe Rovers Reserves and Bridgwater Sports Colts played out a 1-1 draw, with goals from Daniel Jones and Matt Parker for their respective teams.

Porlock Reserves have gone top of Division Four after their 10-1 thrashing of Bridgwater Grasshoppers.

Chris Harman scored the Grasshoppers' consolation goal.

Alex Dixon and Dean Marcheant were on target for Stogursey as they drew 2-2 with Bishops Lydeard colts.

Rhode Lane Wanderers beat Staplegrove Colts 4-3 in a thrilling encounter. Ashley Glover and Matt Patrick both scored twice for Wanderers while Adam Smith netted twice for Staplegrove and Martin Adams scored the third.

Westonzoyland Reserves were 4-1 winners over North Petherton Reserves, who are still searching for their first win of the season.

Dan Wilkes took home the match ball with a hat trick and Tim Butt scored Westonzoyland's fourth. Ed Habberfield scored North Petherton's only goal.
