TIGER Old Boys have booked their place in the final of the Uxella Sunday League’s Bill Brown Cup with an emphatic 6-2 victory over Quantock Pride.
Braces from Ian Bellinger and Matt Washer and a goal each from Nick Keirle and Paul Hooper secured their win. Kev Warre scored Quantock Pride’s goals. Tigers will face Railway Club in the final.
In Division 1, goals from Simon Slocombe and two from Carl Tucker gave Railway Club a 3-1 win over Blake OB. Michael Hart replied for the bottom side.
Andy White and Jordan Rawles were on target for Flag Old Boys in an entertaining 2-2 draw with Cannington. Darryl Taylor and Darren Johnson scored Cannington’s two goals but Taylor missed a penalty.
Ruthless Maltshovel hit five past lowly Pawlett. A Dean Organ hat-trick and goals from Lee Blewett and Simon Dodden gave the away side victory. Lee Turner scored for Pawlett.
Red Tile extended their lead at the top of the division to nine points with a 2-1 victory over Woolavington. Jamie Evans and Jason McPheat were on the score sheet for Red Tile and Marcus Butler scored Woolavington’s only goal.
A nine-goal thriller was played out in Division 2 as Abbey Moor thumped Huntspill 6-3 away. Puriton secured a 3-2 win over NM Sports. Jon Lathan, Dave Hill and James Hatch were on target for Puriton while Craig Robertson and Jack Winter scored Sports’ goals.
Grasshoppers’ Les Pope’s last-gasp free kick secured his side a point as they drew with Middlezoy. Ashcott moved further away from the bottom with a 3-1 win over Admirals. Two goals from Chris Bell and one from Sam Oldham secured all three points. Jeff Smith scored Admirals’ only goal.
Maxwells beat Ramblers 6-3 to move within two points of the top spot. A Dave Baker hat-trick, one from Mike Pope and a Lee Pearce own goal gave Maxwells the win. James Cornish, Jarrid MacKay and Tom Pople scored for Ramblers.
