OVER Stowey Cricket Club is appealing for help after its pavilion roof collapsed.
Prolonged rain and snowfall did the damage and caused the changing room ceiling to cave in.
Club chairman Phil Rich described the scene as “carnage”, with water dripping from the ceiling, bits of roof hanging off and puddles of water around the seating areas.
The club had already submitted plans to extend and improve the pavilion.
Some club members have volunteered their skills to help with the improvements, but the £25,000 cost of materials is causing a headache.
Phil is optimistic the club can fix it in the short term but said: “Without immediate action to get the extension off the ground we are going to have this problem time after time.
“We have the manpower to do the work ourselves but just need the materials to do the job. If anyone can help, please contact me.”
Phone Phil on 01278-732675 or speak to pavilion project manager Ashley on 01278-733532.
