Bridgwater Men’s C 1, Ashmoor A 3
BRIDGWATER’S defence was stretched in the opening minutes but kept Ashmoor at bay, until the visitors scored following a short corner.
Beazley, making his first appearance of the season for the fourth team, made some telling tackles, but Ashmoor scored a second before half-time.
Ashmoor lost a player injured in the second half and Bridgwater took advantage when Hedeaux scored his first senior goal after work from Pope and Stone.
Ashmoor scored a third as Bridgwater pressed for an equaliser.
Joint men of the match were Burland and Saunders.
Bridgwater Ladies 2nds 3, Winscombe Ladies 2nds 1
BRIDGWATER dominated early on, as Jo Bromme, Miche Evans and the returning Kate England all went close.
Further chances came and went before half-time, but after the break, England scored a fine solo goal, and Bromme soon added a second.
Winscombe pulled a goal back but Bridgwater only renewed their attacking efforts and Kath Briggs scored the third after her initial effort was saved.
Player-of-the-match was Jo Bromme.
Bridgwater Ladies 1st XI 1, Newquay 5
BRIDGWATER created enough chances to gain at least a point from this match.
They fell 2-0 down inside 15 minutes but a good save by home keeper Becky Miller sparked them into action and Hayley Greenwell pulled one back for Bridgwater.
In the second half, Newquay score three goals from short corners, while Bridgwater's corners hit the post, the crossbar or were stopped on the line.
Player of the match was Abby Walker.
