Swimmers impress at regional championships

FIVE members of Bridgwater Swimming Club took part in the Age Group and Youth Regional Championships, which saw the best competitors from the South-West compete over seven days.

The Bridgwater swimmers who qualified swam their hearts out and did their club proud with their performances at Millfield School.

Over the competition the swimmers swam 22 races, producing 14 personal best times.

Jessica Barham qualified for the 50m backstroke final, where she finished eighth in a PB time.

Ollie Willis qualified for the 100m and 200m backstroke finals, finishing sixth and seventh respectively after producing two PBs.

Jessica (Robert Blake Science College) and Ollie (Chilton Trinity) were joined by fellow Bridgwater swimmers Rachael Barr (Strode College, Street), Alicia Symes (Haygrove School) and Adam Parchment (Bishops Fox’s, Taunton).
