Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division South

Taunton Town 4, Chesham United 0

ANDREW Neal scored a first-half hat-trick as Taunton Town eased past basement side Chesham United and moved up to second in the Premier Division South table.

In the first league match since the departure of manager Leigh Robinson, the Peacocks were immediately into their stride and were 2-0 up inside 17 minutes through two close-range Neal finishes.

The frontman completed his treble on the half hour, converting from an angle, and captain Matt Wright added gloss to the scoreline with a fourth shortly after half-time.

Taunton comfortably saw out the remainder of the half to record another convincing victory under the stewardship of interim bosses Rob Dray and Matt Villis.

The Peacocks are one of six teams tied on 14 points at the top of the division, with this convincing win boosting their goal difference and taking them above Tiverton Town into second.

Next weekend, Town are back in FA Cup action as they welcome Western League Premier outfit Bitton to the Viridor Stadium (3pm).
