BRIDGWATER Town will go "all guns blazing" against title favourites Plymouth Parkway at Fairfax Park tonight (ko 7.45pm), says co-manager Dave Pearse.

The Robins go into the match as the early Toolstation Western League Premier Division leaders, following their eight-goal demolition of Chipping Sodbury Town on Saturday.

Pearse told the Bridgwater Mercury: “We were very good from minute one [on Saturday], and we took our chances.

“We could have had even more, with a missed penalty and two goals disallowed.

“We said to all the players before the season, when setting individual targets, that we wanted everyone to score five to 10 more.

“So this is a great start, with goals from the midfield and two substitutes.”

Tonight's match with Plymouth Parkway is their first of two games for the Robins this week, as they go to Hengrove Athletic on Saturday (ko 3pm), that fixture having been postponed from the opening weekend of the season.

Pearse added: “[Parkway] have a big FA Cup game with Street on Saturday, so they may have one eye on that, but they’re one of the favourites to win the league.

“We’re at home though, and we’ll come out all guns blazing and go for the three points.

“We’ve signed players to get us into the Southern League, and Parkway are basically a Southern League side already, so it’s a great test for us.”

“Hengrove will be tough, but if we’re to challenge for the top four we’ve got to grind a result out.

“I believe we have the squad to do that.”
