SOMERSET seamer Craig Overton has been called into England's one-day squad for the final two matches of the series against Australia.

England yesterday took an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series - setting a new one-day international record in the process by racking up 481-6.

Overton was due to play for the England Lions in their tri-series against India A and West Indies A this week, but has now been added to the senior squad along with Surrey's Sam Curran.

Both will be available for selection for the matches at Durham's Emirates Riverside on Thursday and the series finale at Emirates Old Trafford on Sunday.

Overton will then re-join the Lions squad and be available for their matches next week.

The paceman was Somerset's highest wicket taker in the 2018 Royal London One-Day Cup campaign, taking 12 scalps in six matches at an average of 28 and going at a touch under six runs an over.

Overton made his Test debut in the winter's Ashes series but is yet to make a one-day appearance for England.
