ENMORE Park’s Dave Hartley Texas Scramble event was won by Alex Clapp, Danny Crook, Stuart Chrystall and Adam Wright, who posted a very good score in the mid 50s.

On Tuesday night it was the team of Chrystall, Clapp and Crook who (again) took the top spot with a score of 78, two ahead of D. Peaster, B. Riddle & N. Johnson.

In third it was M. Clapp, G. Cook and D. Winn with 75.

Ben Fuller broke the 40-point barrier to win the Club Stableford with 41 points, three clear of Daniel Andison and Richard Neal, who finished second and third, respectively, both with 38 points.

The Ladies Spring Bowmaker saw the team of Sarah Blake, Sam Hill and Kathy Salway top the list with a score of 86.

They enjoyed a comfortable winning margin, with Alison Greenslade, Pauline Down and Bee Baker in second with 81, while in third, with 78, it was Kay Foster, Patricia Chattey and Jacky Jacobs.

On yet another beautiful spring day, Enmore Seniors entertained the Seniors from Mendip Spring.

With the visitors not used to hills and a multitude of trees it was going to be an examination of their adaptability to the Enmore course.

The final score of 5½ for the hosts to 2½ for the visitors might show this but several games had close finishes.

With the first four pairings’ results all going to the home team it was looking good for Graham Pain’s men, but the Springers replied towards the back of the field, only to be undone by John Newell and Jim Potticary’s fine 7&5 victory.

The other Enmore winners were David Brown and Phil Wood (6&4), Dave Cousins and Iain Stewart (3&2), Graham Pain and Carl Netto, and Steve Lukins and Tony Pomeroy (1 up), while Mike Taylor and Mike Perry gained an important half point.

Following this, the weather at Lyme Regis was splendid, but unfortunately Enmore lost by one match, the final score being 4-3.

Enmore’s points were gained by Peter Scott and Mike Perry (3&2), Chris Willsteed and Iain Stewart (2up), and David Pascoe and Keith Calvert (4&2).

Enmore Park Juniors played their opening league match of the season at Worlebury Golf Club in their newly-sponsored tops recently.

Atlas Safety Management, based at Westpark near Wellington, have supplied the new tops, for which everyone at the club is hugely grateful.

There are six teams in the league so there is plenty of golf for Enmore Juniors to look forward to this year, in addition to their in-house activities.
