Bridgwater Town 0, Bitton 2

A GOAL in each half consigned Bridgwater Town to a home defeat against Bitton at Fairfax Park.

The Robins survived a couple of early let-offs, while the returning Will Hancox didn't have to wait long to make his second Town debut, replacing Shaun Copp after just seven minutes.

Bridgwater were working their way back into the game but fell behind just after the half hour mark to a superb free-kick by Josh Egan, who found the top corner from 30 yards.

Jack Jenkins and Harry Horton tested the Bitton goalkeeper either side of half-time, and the introduction of Jack Taylor - back after a spell on the sidelines through injury - livened up the hosts' attack.

Town couldn't force an equaliser, however, and Bitton doubled their lead from the spot through Tom Knight after a foul by Charlie White.

Mike Duffy was brought on for the final 10 minutes, but a late comeback failed to materialise and the Robins were left frustrated.

Next up for Town is a trip to Hallen next Saturday.

Bridgwater Town: Jake Viney, Charlie White, Tyne Govier (Mike Duffy), Lee Begg, Kurt Robinson, Jack Jenkins, Mark Armstrong, Shaun Copp (Will Hancox), Harry Horton, Syd Camper (Jack Taylor), Ryan Burrows
