NORTH Petherton were overwhelmed by the backs of Exeter University on Saturday, despite some stoic defending by the visitors.

The pace of the students was too much for Pethy to handle, as the home side cruised to a 43-0 half-time lead.

Matt Blandford, Aaron Bagwell and Sam Laity led the way for Exeter, with two tries each.

Pethy, who are still looking for their first win of the season, entertain ninth-placed Keynsham this coming Saturday.

Albion, bottom of the table with -5 points, are without a match next weekend.

MORGANIANS suffered a second successive defeat as they adapt to life in Somerset 1.

Top-of-the-table Bristol Harlequins proved too strong for visitors Morgs, who are now ninth in the standings at this early stage.

This Saturday sees Morgs back at home, as they entertain North Petherton 2nds in what should be a tasty derby match.

PETHY 2nds picked up a second win of the season at home to Wyvern on Saturday.

Steven Potter scored the first try for the hosts, before hooker Tom ‘Spud’ Hillman barged his way through to cross for the second.

After Pethy were awarded a penalty try, Ethan Longhurst sprinted through to claim the fourth and a bonus point.

The win sees Pethy sitting seventh in the table.

ALBION 3rds succumbed by 40 points away to Weston 4ths in Somerset 2 South.

This coming Saturday, 10th-placed Albion are at home to Tor 2nds, who are bottom of the standings after three defeats.
