YEOVIL Town Ladies complete their Women’s Super League 1 Spring Series campaign in Somerset tomorrow, as they host Sunderland Ladies in Bridgwater (ko 2pm).
Last week they announced the signing of midfielder Angharad James, who has 50 senior caps for Wales, from the now-defunct Notts County Ladies.
She made her debut against Reading Women last Wednesday in Taunton, a match Yeovil lost 1-0 to an eighth-minute goal from defender Mandy van den Berg.
On Sunday they lost 5-1 away to Manchester City Women, the current WSL 1, FA Cup and Continental Cup holders.
Ann-Marie Heatherson’s own goal and Jill Scott’s lob gave City a 2-0 lead, only for Lucy Quinn to pull one back after latching on to a loose pass.
But two goals for Jane Ross and one for Kosovare Asllani secured the win for the hosts.
This Sunday’s match sees Yeovil make their final stop of their Somerset tour during the Spring Series.
Their game at Fairfax Park, Bridgwater, will be preceded by a fun family event run by the club, which is set to include face painters, bouncy castles and other activities, plus a hoped-for football festival.
This Wednesday, May 31, Yeovil are away to FA Cup finalists Birmingham City Ladies.
