SOMERSET have announced that New Zealand wicket-keeper/batsman Luke Ronchi will be returning to the county as their overseas player for the last four LV County Championship matches of 2015.

The 34 year-old played in five NatWest T20 Blast matches for Somerset earlier this summer and made an impression both on and off the field.

Somerset director of cricket, Matt Maynard said: “Luke is a quality player and fitted into the dressing room well when he was here before so we are delighted to be able to welcome him back for the last part of our championship season.

“He is a fighter and the type of character we need in these last four matches.”

Ronchi said: “I’m really thrilled to be given the opportunity to return to Somerset where I enjoyed my stay earlier this year.

“I have always wanted to play championship cricket in England and I look forward to being making putting in some good performances for Somerset over the rest of this season.”

The New Zealander will make his LV County Championship debut for Somerset in the match against Yorkshire at Headingley that starts on September 1.
