WEMBDON Cricket Club’s Dan Bingham has been awarded the ECB Outstanding Contribution Award for his many years of commitment to the club

Bingham heads up the youth cricket programme at Wembdon, which now boasts more than 100 juniors.

He was presented with the award by Hugh Morris CEO of Glamorgan CCC and formerly chief executive at the ECB during day two of the first Ashes test at Cardiff.

The day included a ticket to the Test Match, lunch and a presentation on the pitch during the lunch interval in front of a 15,000 capacity crowd.

Dan was nominated by chairman of Wembdon Cricket Club, Ian Falconer.

In his time at the club Dan has been the fixture secretary, groundsman and welfare officer – and overseen the launch and progression of the ladies team.

He continues to oversee Club Mark accreditation and has spent six years ensuring the new ground and community facilities in Wembdon become a reality.
