WEPL Bristol and Somerset 2nd XI
Wembdon 2nd XI 267-7 beat Taunton 244-9 by 23 runs
HALF-centuries from Jordan Rawles, Tom Lott and Mike Watts fired Wembdon 2nd XI to a 23-run triumph over Taunton on Saturday.
Rawles top scored with an unbeaten 81 for the home side, while Lott (63) and Watts (60) provided ample support, as Wembdon posted 267-7 from their 45 overs.
The Taunton reply looked to be collapsing in a heap as they lost six wickets in quick succession early on – but Matt dare (50), Reny Devassy (52) and W Payne (41no) took them within striking distance, batting at numbers eight, nine and ten respectively.
Tim Bennett (4-43) got the key wicket of Devassy to put an end to Taunton’s hopes of victory and seal a second league win of the season for Wembdon.
