QUAYSIDE Trampoline and Gymnastics Club has had a fantastic start to the 2015 competition season.

Five of their National Development Plan (NDP) trampoline gymnasts have qualified for places to represent the South West Region at the Trampoline and Tumbling Regional Team Finals to be held at the Peterborough Arena in Peterborough this weekend. (May 30/31)

Eight-year-old Talia Macrides - the youngest Quayside competitor - and Lottie Brazier will compete in the NDP5 category in the 9-10 and 15+ female age groups.

They will be joined by 17-year-old Daisy Ham and 13-year-old Ryan Cheffey, competing in their respective age groups in the highest NDP Regional level six category.

Carrie Wynn Durbin also qualified at NDP3 but will unfortunately not be competing due to other commitments.

The gymnasts have travelled to South West Squad Team training sessions in Poole as well as training at Quayside in preparation for the event after being selected from regional qualifying events held at Bath University earlier in the year.

Quayside Coach, Lorraine Naish, said: “We are all so proud of these young trampolinists and know they will have a great experience representing our region with pride.”

The top gymnasts who perform well in Peterborough will then qualify as individuals to compete at the NDP Trampoline and Tumbling Finals 2015 to be held in July at the International Centre in Telford.
