DAVE Pascoe and Graham Pain are the winners of the highly competitive Seniors' Winter League at Enmore Park.
They had a convincing win in the final over Jeff Saunders and Steve Lukins.
Enmore Park Seniors travelled to the Cricket St. Thomas club for their first away fixture of the new season.
Played on the morning immediately after the late March gale, the course proved to be a formidable challenge to all as the gale just continued throughout the day, which was very appropriate as the club has only just recently changed its title from the previous ‘Windwhistle’ club.
Enmore players toiled manfully only just losing by five matches to three - the points were gained by John Earp with Ray Hancock (2 & 1),Jeff Saunders with John Newell and Chris Sammons with Peter Hamshere, both pairs by 3 & 1.
Enmore defeated Cannington at Oake in the seniors scratch with a very convincing 5-0.
The first Club Day of the season was affected by strong winds this Tuesday so the scoring was very testing.
Gary Walker and Alan Vickery managed an impressive 40 points in the 4BBB format to win and playing partners Matt and Richard Kippen came second with 37.
In third on 36 were Pip and Mel Millar.
