Evo-stick Division One South & West

Bridgwater Town 0, Stratford Town 0

BRIDGWATER Town battled to a hard-earned point in Saturday’s goalless draw with high-flying Stratford on Saturday.

In a game of few chances - two players, one from each side – were shown red cards during the second-half.

Joe Bushin was given his marching orders for Town for two bookable offences, while Stratford’s Scott Hadland was sent off for an off the ball incident after 48 minutes.

Bushin had own’s best chance to break the deadlock, forcing a smart save from Stratford ‘keeper Andy Kemp, who also reacted well to a back header from his own defender shortly after.

Luke Barlone’s header then forced Ben John to stretch back to stop his effort – and John also kept out a firm drive from Chris Sterling late on, before making an even better save from Tyrone Fagan, despite the linesman’s flag being raised.

The red cards came on 48 minutes and 77 minutes – and that was about as good as this game got, with both sides happy to settle for a point.
