Gems 73, Wyndham 23
SYDENHAM Gems cruised to a 50-point victory over Wyndham of Yeovil on Saturday.
Gems fought hard for possession early on and kept up momentum, with their goal to move into the top three of the Somerset Netball Premier League.
Gems showed commitment from the first whistle with Kelly Thorne and Danni Keirle driving into space and opening up the court, allowing the attack to take control of their end.
Hannah Clapp and Justine Pearn moved well throughout the shooting circle, scoring some great goals from distance.
The team’s attack and defence linked well coming down the court, with loose balls being picked up and the team capitalizing on Wyndham’s errors.
Controlled passing by Gems exuded strength and allowed them to monopolize the court and lead 30-11 at half time.
The second half saw Gems score 23 and 20 goals respectively.
The match was a great team effort which showed energy, commitment and enthusiasm - with Kelly Thorne and Amy Witcombe being named man of the match.
