Taunton Youth League Under-12s Division 1
Wellington Town 10, Wembdon Dragons 0
AFTER an eight-man Dragons side – depleted by the loss of three players through illness and injury – lined up for a minute’s silence for Somerset FA Referees Development Officer, Keith Buller before kick-off – it was Wellington who started brightly moving in to a four-goal lead within 10 minutes.
Dragons, though, did manage to get the ball out of their own half – with Lewis Baker shooting just wide and some good play from Alfie Sampson and Robert Fieldhouse showed what they were capable of, before Wellington scored a fifth.
The half ended with an eighth goal from close range after four successive blocks from Will Stokes inside his own penalty area.
Dragons gained control after the break by pressuring every ball and playing with composure and created the better chances without reward.
Man of the match: Robin Smith Dragons: Travis Moore, Will Stokes, Robin Smith, Marcus Sewell, Robert Fieldhouse, Alfie Griffin, Lewis Baker, Alfie Sampson.
