Team BC 61, South Devon 63
TEAM BC slipped to a narrow defeat at home to South Devon, going down 63-61.
A strong first quarter saw hosts Team BC in front by 15 - 10 against the visiting South Devon side.
Their quality dropped in the second and South Devon increased their defensive pressure resulting in a half time score of 26-29 in favour of the visitors.
The third quarter was almost a carbon copy of the first with the score identical 15-10.
Team BC pulled ahead in the fourth going up 55 - 50 when South Devon scored a big three pointer to bring the score back within two points.
Then Team BC pulled ahead again 55 - 49, however South Devon again hit another three pointer followed by another three in a row from behind the arc totalling five scored three pointers in a matter of minutes putting them ahead by two.
Team BC had the last good opportunity to score in the game but ended up missing a layup to take it to overtime.
Rich Anderson, Team BC Elite Basketball Men's Head Coach said: “In such a close game every play matters.
“We only scored 47% from the free-throw line, missed a layup to take it to overtime and allowed five open 3 point attempts towards the end that all went in.
“However it's been a massive leap forward for some of the players and I feel like we are performing better as a team because of it.”
