Isca 4, Bridgwater A 1

BRIDGWATER travelled to league leaders Isca on Saturday expecting a tough afternoon.

The final scoreline does not truly represent how well Bridgwater played as the first half saw Bridgwater more than match their hosts, Isca taking the lead from the penalty spot after a flicked short corner hit Mike Morrish high on his body.

Bridgwater responded with a short corner, Andy Taylor flicking through the keeper, to make it 1-1 at half time.

The second half was again even until Bridgwater had to reshuffle after losing Jason Hedaux to an injury.

Isca were able to find three more goals in quick succession, but Bridgwater can take heart from holding the leaders for 50 minutes and need to produce such a display in their remaining two home games before Christmas.

Bridgwater V 2, East Devon V 1

BRIDGWATER V gained their first win of the season with triumph against East Devon on Saturday.

With Bridgwater’s first attack of the game they were awarded a short corner which looked to be rather fortunate.

A broken routine to Harry Jackson went well as he slipped the ball into the D for Dave Dosson to slip into the goal.

East Devon started taking a hold in the game and were unlucky to not score themselves as Mark Hutter made a couple of solid saves.

But the midfield of Pete Cammish, Tom Syvret, Harry Rose and Jackson and Lewis Coad all ran their socks off to support the defence of Kev Hicks, Simon Brewer, Geoff Banham and Dominic Court.

East Devon did get a deserved equaliser as they applied the pressure – but this woke up Bridgwater who then immediately went on to the attack with Kelly who won a short corner and Cammish scored the winner.
