CURRENT and former Bridgwater College students have been selected to coach for Exeter City Youth Development based at Bridgwater College Academy.

They will coach talented football players from the Somerset Area from Under sevens to under 13s.

These players will train on a Monday evening and have regular fixtures against the other development centres and coaches from Exeter City Academy will keep a close eye on the talent coming through.

The coaches selected are Joe Syvret and Kye Whelan who studies on the Level 3 Diploma Coaching Football in Community Setting, Nathan James who studies on the Level 2 Diploma Coaching Football in Community Settings and Dan Giblett, Ryan Haysham and Ben Robinson who study on the Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

Jamie Laird, Level 2 Coaching Football in Community Settings Tutor said: “These students have all gone through a vigorous interview process and Aaron Pugh (Exeter City Youth Development Director) conducted the interviews and selected what he thought were most suitable.

“This is another great opportunity and employment pathway that this course has offered to our current and past students.

“To work within a professional football club will be brilliant for their CV's and give them great experience for their coach education.”
