ILFRACOMBE Men came to Enmore on Sunday for a contest played in great spirit in great weather and a convincing 4½ to 1½ win for Enmore.

The Ray Williams scratch knockout was won by hot favourite Matt Kippen and Heather Neale won the Club Midweek Medal with a nett score of 73.

This was good enough for Heather to win the Silver Division with Kathryn Salway and Rose Jarvis second and third respectively.

Winning the Bronze Division on countback was Ruth Maclennan with Julie Blumgart missing out after both ladies came in with nett 74.

The inaugural Quantock Stag Trophy event attracted 120 golfers from 15 clubs with a modified shotgun start on September 19.

The competition was won by the eight seniors from Saunton who took the Stag Trophy back to North Devon with an average of 42 for four pairs.

The trophy, a metal replica Quantock stag with a solid oak base made from the fallen tree near the tenth green, was donated by past captain Keith Norcutt and crafted by captain John Newell.

It was Enmore Park Seniors’ turn to host the annual MET shield, a three-team competition between Minehead (M), Enmore (E) and Tiverton (T), and in glorious conditions Tiverton posted a combined 375 points, pipping Enmore by a point.

Enmore Park seniors completed a busy September programme away at the Isle of Wedmore and at home against Tiverton Seniors.
