MIDDLEZOY cruised to a derby victory over Bridgwater A in Division 1 of the Somerset Cricket league on the final day of the league season, as they ran out six-wicket victors.

George Musgrave (82) led the way for ’Zoy as they successfully chased down 166 with plenty of overs to spare.

Nathan Barnard (30no) carried his side over the line with a well-crafted knock, having earlier taken 3-27 to help dismiss Bridgwater for just 166.

C. Session (3-25) was also in the wickets for Zoy, who signed off the season style.

In Division 5, Mark were crushed by nine wickets at Hardington & West Coker, despite 40 from T. Cattermole.

Cattermole was a lone ranger as Mark were dismissed for just 115 batting first, before Hardington eased home for the loss of just one wicket.

Chilton Polden slumped to a six-wicket defeat at Taunton A in Division 6, as the hosts chased 170 for victory.

J. Gardner (55) and J. Adams (37) top scored for Chilton in a total of 169-9 – but Taunton were rarely troubled in reply, despite 3-41 from C.

Birch, as they eased home by six wickets.

In Division 7, Wembdon Wyverns signed off the season with a 46-run reverse at Taunton St Andrew’s A.

K. Rawles took 3-38 for the Wyverns as Saints posted 218-5, but Wembdon could only manage 172 in reply, with K. Hicks (50) and W. Pope (54) leading the charge.

North Petherton 2nds were eight-wicket winners against Watchet in Division 8S, thanks to 88 not out from T. Everett.

B. Williams also added 39 for Pethy, as they cruised home by eight wickets.

Ed Stone (3-32) and J. Rees (2-26) were both in the wickets to help restrict Watchet to 163-7, before the batsmen took care of the rest.
