Middlezoy Rovers 3 Weston St Johns 0

MIDDLEZOY made it two wins from two with a dominant 3-0 victory over Weston St Johns on Saturday.

Craig Wright, Simon Bone and Dan Luce netted for Zoy in an impressive all-round display from the hosts.

After some intricate passing down the right, Jamie Temlett swung the ball across for Craig Wright to nod in a deserved opener on ten minutes.

Zoy doubled their lead on 21 minutes. This time Bone provided the precise delivery to the back post for Wright to head home his second of the afternoon.

With the visitors struggling to get a foothold in the game Middlezoy continued to dominate with Damon Jennings’ energy in the middle of the park making the difference.

Tom Brown and Jamie Temlett had glorious chances to make it three, but neither hit the target when well placed in front of goal.

Andy Smith was brought down in the box on the stroke of half-time, but the referee decided there was no foul, much to the confusion of both benches.

The second half went the same way with the visitors unable to create a chance of note, and after a sustained spell of pressure Luce added a third inside the hour, finishing well from his weaker foot from an Andy Smith pass.

A further bright note for Middlezoy was the introduction of youngster Olly Cook on for his senior debut after an impressive pre-season.

Middlezoy have yet to concede in their opening two games and have found the net seven times already.

They entertain Clevedon United this Saturday at 3pm, looking to extend their impressive early form.
