BRIDGWATER Town chairman Rich Johnson has assured supporters money from any new sponsorship will go towards strengthening the squad next season.

Johnson, who took over the role midway through last season, has told fans the club’s debt is “under control” and any fresh funds will be made available to manager Richard Fey.

He said: “I really want to reassure supporters that the club’s looking to strengthen the squad for next season and that the debt mentioned in the Mercury last week is under control.

“Any sponsorship we receive for next season will go towards strengthening the squad and ensuring that we continue to build on what wasavery successful season on the pitch.

“The club’s a big part of the community in Bridgwater, and it’s essential that local businesses help out and sponsor us.”
