ENMORE Park were 4-1 winners over Entry Hill in the second round of the Somerset Bowl, on a blustery afternoon at the Mendip course.

Enmore Park Seniors hosted their counterparts from the Wells Golf Club on dry but blustery day and suffered a heavy defeat by 6&half to 1&half.

Enmore's points came from the veterans in the final two groups - Ken Hunt with Max Jameson winning by 3&2 whilst Jim Smith with Phil Wood gained a half point.

Two days later, on a beautiful calm and sunny day, Enmore travelled up the M5 to Clevedon but sadly with another similar result - Enmore losing by six matches to two.

Enmore's meagre total was gained by Roger Anniss with Paul Waplington, winning by 5 & 4, whilst Jim Symcox with Mike Cavill won by 3 & 2.

The juniors notched a great win against their counterparts at Burnham & Berrow by a score of 3 ½ - ½.

Winning scores were Jack Dray 3/2, Scot Linden 2/1,Rob Acland and Jake Bovington 4/2 and the final match being halved by Matt Ison and Alex Hill.

Hannah Grant won the 101st Somerset Ladies Golf Championship at Enmore Park, as she came through the 36 hole qualifying round to win the Scratch Cup with a gross 149, which included a new ladies amateur course record of gross 70.

She continued into the match play rounds ending with a semi-final against Jade Cope of Weston Super Mare finishing on the 20th hole and the final against Amanda Mayne of Saltford on the 19th.

It was Hannah's fourth final and it was a special occasion to win the championship at her home club in front of many of her friends and fellow members.
