THE Bridgwater and District Table Tennis League held their annual closed competition at Chilton Trinity School over the weekend of April 12/13.

In the juniors event, the future of Bridgwater Table Tennis was demonstrated with some great matches.

The under 11 events were dominated by Enmore School with the winners and runners up in the boys and girls coming from the local school.

In the boys event, Bertie Kelly beat William Stokes 3-0 in the final - and in the girls, Imogen Venner was the winner with Maddy Marsh finishing as runner up.

In the under 13 Boys, Sam Coles of Haygrove school, beat off all the opponents to win the event and Bertie Kelly stepped up an age group to claim runner up.

In the under 15 Boys, Max Sellick defeated Bridgwater Junior TTC fellow member Sam Coles in the final.

In the girls event, sisters Juste and Aiste Mockeliunaite fought for the title - and older sibling Juste won in a close five set final match to defend her title from last year.

In the senior events the day had lots of extremely close matches.

In the Premier singles, two of the four groups had to go on count back to determine the players going through the group.

John Crabtree of Stockland Tigers secured the title.

The senior doubles event saw defending champions Ed Martin and Dave Yarde retain their title The restricted singles saw Jack Brindley of Division 2 beating Paul Bovett of Wembdon - and in the veteran singles, the final saw John Crabtree make it a double success on the day for him.
