THE wet weather decimated the weekend's fixtures in the Somerset Cricket League, with plenty of cancellations and abandonments.
In one of the few games to finish, Wembdon Wyverns were beaten by four wickets by Taunton Deane Crusaders in Division Seven.
Wembdon posted 160-5 batting first thanks to 43 from Steve Pigden and 42 from Kevin Cosens.
In reply, Taunton Deane reached their target with four wickets in hand, despite 2-38 from Cosens.
In Division 8S, Middlezoy II thrashed Spaxton by 70 runs thanks to a dominant bowling display from H Thompson, who took 5-12.
Spaxton were bowled out for just 54 in pursuit of Middlezoy II 124-9 - R Brigers took 4-50 for Spaxton, while A Clapp scored 48 for Middlezoy II.
The Division One game between Middlezoy firsts and Temple Cloud was abandoned with Temple Cloud 70-3 - N Barnard took 3-21.
In Division Two, North Newton's game with Barrington ended in a rain induced draw, with Newton in a great position to win the game.
Batting first, they posted 231-5 thanks to an unbeaten century from C Barrington (115no) - Barrington were 128-4 when the rain came.
Mark versus Lydford was cancelled without a ball being bowled, as was the games between Chilton Polden and Castle Carey II.
