Dave Hobbs Cup Quarter Final
Tiger Old Boys 9, New Foresters 0

TIGER Old Boys cruised into the semifinals of the Dave Hobbs Cup with a 9-0 thrashing of ten-man New Foresters on Sunday morning.

Rob White scored four times for Tiger and Carl Jones netted a brace as the Division One high flyers won in comfortable fashion – Gary Head, Kyle Winter and George Wilkinson completed the scoring.

Let down by four no-shows by regular players, Foresters were forced to take on high-flying Tiger a man down – and Tiger’s power was there for all to see as they made light work of their depleted opponents.

Tiger Old Boys’ captain Carl Jones was pleased with his side’s strong performance.

He said: “Overall all it was a solid performance from the lads today, who are looking forward to the next game.

“We took our goals well and created a lot of chances.”

New Foresters’ player Richie Meek said: “We played them earlier in the season with a full strength side out and drew 3-3 but we were really up against it with only ten men.

“We had seven players not available and four of them just didn’t turn up, having said they would be playing. It’s disappointing really but we worked hard with what we had – they’re a really good side though.”

The game started as it meant to go on, with Tiger dominating possession and territory.

White fired his side into an early lead and Jones followed suit shortly after.

From there the goals just kept coming and Jones completed his hat-trick in quick fire fashion.

Jones added his second with another measured finish, before Head, Winter and Wilkinson got in on the act to fire Tiger comfortably into the semi-finals.
