Seconds lose out as imperious Imperial gain promotion

Bridgwater & Albion II 8 Imperial 30
BRIDGWATER & Albion II’s final home game of the season didn’t go to plan as they lost to Imperial, who secured promotion on Saturday.
Imperial were first to put their name on the score sheet with a well taken penalty, and soon afterwards they crossed over for a try out wide which was well taken by the winger.
Their second try followed another mix-up by Albion – a line-out ten metres from the Albion line was won, but not cleanly, and Imperial pounced on the ball and ran in unopposed from five metres.
Albion then scored their one try. The forwards carried the ball through several phases before it went out to fly-half Jon Hill (elder), who moved it along the line to Stradling.
Two defenders were sucked in, allowing Hill to loop around and retake the ball.
There was still some work to be done, though, and Hill proved he was up to the task, beating two defenders with nifty dance moves to score a fine try. The conversion was missed.
Weak tackling let Imperial in for their third try, and the bonus point was secured not long afterwards.
Both teams ended with 14 men after Stradling and the opposition 12 were sin binned after another difference of opinions.
Bridgwater travel to Wellington on Thursday night for their final game of the season, hoping to finish on a high.
