Calor League South & West
Paulton Rovers 1, Bridgwater Town 0

A 56th minute goal from Paulton's Mike Perrott gave the home side victory against the run of play against a battling Bridgwater Town side, writes Pete Besley.

The Robins dominated large periods of the game but were unable to find the equaliser they thoroughly deserved.

Bridgwater started the stronger of the two sides, with James Pilling going close as his shot flew over the cross bar - and Karim Rendell forced Phillips into a couple of smart saves as Bridgwater increased their tempo.

Paulton's only threat came from Kyle McCootie, as the home side struggled to get a foothold in the game.

The second half was more even, with Paulton playing up the slope - and they took the lead on 56 minutes when Luke Ballinger sent in a long cross from the right-wing, which was met by Mike Perrott, who firmly headed home.

Bridgwater pushed for the equaliser, but shots from Knighton, Tooze and Allan were either just wide or well dealt with by 'keeper Phillips.

A late Rendell header flew just over the bar, but it was not to be for the Robins.
