Calor League South & West
Bridgwater Town 3, Taunton Town 1
KARIN Rendell scored twice to fire a depleted Bridgwater Town to a 3-1 derby victory over Taunton Town last night (Tuesday).
Rendell scored either side of half-time to put Bridgwater into a 2-0 lead, but Taunton struck back on the hour mark through Jamie Short.
With 15 minutes remaining, Kyle Tooze scored Bridgwater’s third to seal all three points for the Robins and avenge November’s 1-0 defeat at Wordsworth Drive.
Tom Knighton and Mitchell Page missed the game with flu, while Rudge, Robertson and Bater were all sidelined through injury.
To make matters worse, manager Richard Fey was also absent with flu, so assistant manager Ger Bater stepped in to take charge at Fairfax Park.
Bridgwater Town welcome Tiverton to Fairfax Park this Saturday (March 22, 3pm KO).
