BRIDGWATER Town manager Richard Fey said his side 'did not disgrace themselves' as they went down 2-0 at home to Merthyr Town.

Fey believes Merthyr are by far the strongest side in the league and says his side proved they can compete with the bigger sides.

He said: “We watched the eventual champions of our league on Saturday, they were just a strong outfit all over the pitch. They had seven players sat in the stands and their quality would have got in most squads in the league above.

“But we restricted them to two shots on goal, but unfortunately their two shots went in. We did cause them problems as well, Mitchell page should have scored from a good chance, but we certainly didn't disgrace themselves - it was encouraging for us because we did pretty well.

“Tonight's game against Clevedon will be tough because it's a local derby and they beat Godalming at the weekend.”

The Robins welcome Clevedon Town to Fairfax Park tonight (Tuesday, 7.45 kick-off.)
