KING Alfred Boxing Club member Michael Hughes has signed three-year professional contract with Bristol promoter Chris Saniger.

Hughes, who has been at King Alfred's from the age of nine, has been named Western Counties champion a number of times and has previously sparred with pro boxer Danny Butler.

Promoter Chris Saniger said: “Michael has been coming up here for five years now and has all the ability needed to become a champion boxer.”
