THIS week again only four games survived the wet weather as waterlogged pitched caused another spate of postponements in the Taunton & District League.

Friday night’s Rowbarton Charity Cup tie between Sampford Blues and Minehead Reserves ended in a 3-1 victory for the Blues.

Goals from Luke Perry (2) and Craig Lawrence fired Sampford into the next round, while Alex Pope netted for Minehead. In the League Knock Out Cup, Westonzoyland beat North Petherton 2-0 thanks to goals from Paul Burrows and Sam Edmunds.

The pitch was passed fit at a 9.30am inspection and again just before kick off after the heavens had opened.

Sydenham Rangers booked their place in the quarter finals of the Seward Cup with a 4-2 victory over Wyvern Guns at Castle School.

Jake Adey bagged a brace for Rangers, while Adam Knight and Garth treasure scored one apiece.
