BRIDGWATER College’s mixed hockey team came away from their triangular tournament with their heads held high following a win and a draw from two fixtures.
In the first game, Bridgwater hammered Yeovil College 8-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Liam Hedaux, two from Josh Gale and one each for Max Syvret and Mel Storey.
The second game against Exeter College was a much tighter affair, as the sides each took a share of the spoils with a 1-1 draw.
Exeter grabbed an early, scrappy goal, against the run of play, but Bridgwater played as a unit, creating many forward runs into their opponents defending quarter.
The Exeter full-backs made some telling tackles to deny Bridgwater a goal.
A run of short corners gave Bridgwater hope of a goal but they were unable to convert.
But the breakthrough eventually came from Tim Bennett when he got the equaliser.
