Somerset County Division One
Middlezoy Rovers 1, Frome Collegians
MIDDLEZOY were left to rue a number of missed chances as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat at home to league leaders Frome Collegians.
Simon Bone had given Middlezoy a 1-0 lead early in the second half, but two Frome goals in ten minutes turned the tables and sealed the points for the visiting side.
Steve Hall had the ball in the net in the 12th minute only to be denied by the linesman’s flag, before Craig Wright saw his effort saved by Alex Buckley.
Sam Peppin then squandered a great chance to give Zoy the lead on 52 minutes, but Buckley was again on hand to deny him.
They eventually opened the scoring on the hour when full-back Bone slotted home Peppin’s pin-point cross.
But Frome showed just why they are top of the tree with two quick fire strikes to steal the points from Middlezoy.
