Emeralds 27, Quantocks 35

BOTH teams started well and were matching each other goal for goal.

As the weather worsened and the wind picked up, Emeralds had to adjust their play to the conditions and then started to fall slightly behind on the score board towards the end of the second quarter.

There were some substitutions in both attack and centre court for the third quarter, but after a couple of miscommunications on court, Emeralds slipped a little further behind.

Despite some excellent defence, Emeralds were unable to make up the difference.

Ambers 26, Robins 34

AMBERS started off slowly and struggled to get the ball into the circle to start with.

But with some accurate passes from Hannah Wallis WA and Georgia Edmundson, Ambers soon got off the mark ending the first quarter 6-12.

Ambers continued to work hard and were catching Robins with some great interceptions by Megan Buller GD ambers soon closed in 15-18.

Unfortunately Robins widened the gap in the third quarter to nine goals - and although Ambers captain Michelle Parr worked hard to keep up with Robins' shooters, the game ended 26-34.

Gems 40, Sharks 33

SHARKS started the quarter with determination and capitalised on Gems mistakes, the first quarter finished 12-9 to sharks.

Gems knew they had to pick up their game and went out strong in the second quarter and good centre court play from Danni Keirle and Beth Fella helped Gems to gain the lead.

The second quarter finished 22-19 to Gems.

Gems were determined to keep their lead in the third quarter and strong defence from Kerry Hobbs and Rachel Lawrence helped to do this.

Timed interceptions from Amy Witcombe drove Gems forward and the third quarter finished 30-25 to Gems.

Gems finally warmed up in the last quarter and started to play like they know they can.

Strong shooting from Justine Pearn and Hannah Clapp ensured Gems kept their lead.

Sapphires 41, Kestrels 38

SAPPHIRES had a tough game against a strong Kestrels team.

The game was end to end throughout and with changes to the team, Sapphires fought to the final whistle to win the game 41-38.

Garnets 8, Priory 48

Although team feeding was good, Garnets had players playing out of position leading to a 47-8 defeat.
