Jupiter 45 Team Bath B 49

JUPITER travelled away on Sunday to face Team Bath B.

With only two points separating the two teams in the table, the points from this game were vital.

From the first whistle Jupiter went out fighting - captain GD Beckie Cowley pressurised Team Bath's attack making it difficult for them to settle and ending the first quarter with just a one goal difference.

With nothing to lose, Jupiter made some changes and continued to play hard during the second quarter.

Team Bath however managed to pull a few goals back allowing them to take the lead at half time 22-28.

In the third quarter GS Paige Davey sunk some impressive shots from a distance intending to close the gap.

Unfortunately there was still a seven goal difference at the third quarter.

In the final quarter Jupiter knew they had to close the gap in order to gain the vital extra points - players of the match WD Sammie Woolacott and GK Lisa Durant marked tightly in defence and made some impressive tips, turning over some important balls.

This helped Jupiter to close the gap, ending the game with just a four-goal difference.

Saturn 43 Gems 58

GREAT awareness and timely interceptions from joint player of the match Sally Haysham (GK) gave Saturn the opportunity to settle.

Fantastic court movement from centre Imogen Setter proved a valuable link between defence and attack, and an injury in the second quarter saw Michelle Stone take the court at WD and apply constant circle edge pressure - as Saturn went into half time trailing 23-32.

Timely movement down the court by Hazel Hucker who had moved to WA, ensured Saturn kept possession.

Whilst Saturn weren't able to turn the match around finishing it 43-58, a great work ethic could be seen by every player on court throughout the hour.

Venus 34 Neptune 65

BOTH sides started strongly with Venus' defence putting pressure on the experience of Neptune's attack.

Solid play was seen by Saskia Middleton (GD) and Mary King (GK).

However the first quarter ended 12-18 to Neptune.

Neptune came out fighting in the second quarter with accurate shooting from Lianne Fothergill (GS) and Sarah Perry (GA) leaving a half time score of 20-34.

The second half saw a similar high standard of play by Neptune.

The centre court play of Venus was competitive, especially by Alisha Gardener, but despite the efforts of Venus the final score was 34-65 to Neptune.
